GDC ALUR
Government Degree College Alur is established in the year 1987 on December 11th. It is the only Government Degree College serving the needs of Higher Education for the students from the 6 mandals in the Alur Constituency. People of Alur approached Sri Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao garu during his election campaign in Alur to establish a Govt Degree College, for which he readily approved it. Later the Government Degree College, Alur started in the premises of Govt. Boys High School-2. It is running with the single group BA(HEP) since it's inception.Government Degree College, Alur is administered by Commissionerate of Collegiate Education, Dept. Of Higher Education. It is affiliated to Rayalaseema University, Kurnool. Rayalaseema University issues the Annual Academic Calandar, supervises the Admissions and Examinaions, and Results of the students. At College Level, Principal is the Administrative authority. At present, Dr. R. Madhuri, M.Sc, M. Phil, Ph.DPrincipal, FAC. CPDC, having Principal as Chairperson, Vice Principal Smt. K. Madavi, M. A., as Secretary and all the staff as members helps in the College Administration. College level Administrative Committees are formed among the college staff to supervise the Academic, Sports, Student Welfare, NSS activities etc. There are 5 teaching and 5 Non Teaching staff in the College. G. Srinivasulu, B.A., Senior Assistant, Nageswararao (Junior assistant) and G. Sekhar, B.A., Record Assistant.
